Loren Juarros, Málaga CF’s sporting director, accompanied Aaron Ochoa at the press conference announcing his contract renewal through 2029. The head of the club’s sporting department opened the appearance by sharing a few words about him.
“For Málaga’s project, it’s very important that Aaron continues with us. At last, now that you’re of age, you’ve been able to sign your contract yourself. You have your whole footballing life ahead of you. You’ve spent two years with the first team and you’ve only kept improving, that’s why the Club believes in you and why we’re here today. We’re still yet to see the very best of your football. Thank you, and never stop striving to get better. There’s so much more to come, you’re not yet the best Aaron Ochoa we’re going to see.”
Afterwards, the floor was opened for questions to Aaron Ochoa:
The club of his life
“It’s a privilege for me to renew with the club I’ve been at my whole life. I hope there will be many more years to come.”
Positive progress
“In three years’ time, I see myself as an even better player than I am now, showing on this pitch the level I’m capable of reaching.”
Second youngest debutant in Blue and White history
“Now that two years have passed, I realise how difficult it is. That day, I wasn’t fully aware of what it meant to make my debut at La Rosaleda at just 16 years old
Strong current form
“I feel good. I’m happy about the renewal and about getting some minutes now. That shows me I can go on to earn many more
More challenging start to the season
“Football is all about moments. I couldn’t join preseason on time because of a minor injury that required surgery. Now I’m feeling physically good and contributing to the team. It’s tough because you always want to play, but with the support of my teammates, family and psychologist, I’ve been able to get through it.”
The ambition to keep improving
“I see plenty of room for growth because if you don’t believe you can improve, you won’t reach your potential. I want to get the very best out of myself here.”
