A point from Los Cármenes to keep adding (0-0)

Málaga CF’s fifth match without defeat takes place in Granada and the team now has 41 points in LaLiga.

Málaga have never won a First Division match at Los Cármenes.  800 Malaguistas travelled to Granada hoping to break this curse within an atmosphere of major sportsmanship amongst both sets of fans.

Javi Gracia was unable to repeat the same starting-11 as the last match due to Charles’ suspension. As such, Santa Cruz was called-up for the attack, along with the other new addition, Ricca, who occupied the left wing.  Fans barely had a chance to sit down when two headers from Camacho and Cop gave the stands at Los Cármenes a fright.  The next opportunity was also for the Blue and Whites, when a great display by Recio in minute 23’ saw a chance for Cop, who missed the target.

Success came close to taking the lead for Granada, when a one on one with Ochoa saw the ball go wide of the area.

The second half kicked off without any major changes and with the scoreboard still goalless.  Sitting in a compromising position in the League table, the urgency of Granada was more evident as time went on, whilst Málaga looked comfortable on the pitch, despite not creating any clear chances.

Ochoa saved a Granada goal in minute 78’ with a spectacular intervention, once again against Success, as the keeper claimed the ball solo in the face of danger.  Chory, very active on the left wing, responded with a left-footer that went wide.

The match ended in a goalless draw and both teams shared the points.  Málaga’s fifth consecutive match without defeat sees them with 41 points in the table.
