A more international goal with Munir

Goalkeeper, Munir arrives at Málaga CF on a free transfer after ending his contract with CD Numancia. Tomorrow, Friday he will be presented at La Rosaleda’s press room at 11:30.

The third Malaguista incorporation for the 2018/19 season passed the medical this afternoon at Vithas Salud Rincón Medical Center Rosaleda.

Career

Munir Mohand Mohamedi El Kajoui was born on 10th May 1989 (29 years old) in Melilla. After developing his career at CD Goyu Ryu and AD Ceuta, he gained experience in the reserve teams of Ceuta, UD Almería and UD Melilla. With the first team of his home city, in the bronze division of national football, he took part in 74 games between 2010/11 and 2013/14.

In the 2014/15 campaign, he signed to CD Numancia, remaining there until 30th June. Munir played 74 games in the Liga 1|2|3 and another seven in the Copa del Rey over four years, standing out for his solvency in aerial play, due to his being 1’90 tall. In the last season, he was one step away from moving to LaLiga Santander, after reaching the final round of the promotion playoffs with Numancia.

International and World Cup

Munir has been an international with Morocco’s first team a total of 30 times. He played the Africa Cup in Gabon in 2017, along with his new teammate, En-Nesyri, taking part in four complete matches and reaching the quarter-finals.

Recently, he competed in the 2018 Russia World Cup as starting goalkeeper for Morocco in the three matches against Iran, Portugal and Spain in the first phase of the competition, with notable performances between the posts.
