The reserves surpass themselves

Atlético Malagueño yesterday won away against CDE Melistar (0-3) in the fifth match of the Third Division’s Group IX. It’s the fifth victory in five games for the category’s leader and current champion.

Manuel Ruano’s squad imposed themselves on Melistar at la Espiguera in a match that soon got going, so much so that in minute 8 Iván Rodríguez managed to get past the defense of Stelitano. At halftime, a minimal advantage. In the final stage of the clash, Malagueño sealed the deal with goals from Jack Harper (78’) and Pablo Clavería (89’), consolidating their place as leader with five triumphs in five matches.

Identical stats as last season’s campaign in which their were five wins in the same period but with +13 goals in favour, whereas now in the present campaign there are +14. In the sixth match of last season, they broke the unbroken good spell in Melilla.

The Malaguista reserves will have the chance to continue beating their own record on Sunday at 12 noon at the Federacíon Malagueña. The rival at this interesting provincial derby will be Centro de Deportes El Palo.
