Fran Villalba: “The fans made us feel like we were at La Rosaleda”

Málaga CF midfielder, Fran Villalba, spoke to MCFTV after the 0-2 victory against CD Lugo at the Anxo Carro.

“The team went out there knowing what was at stake. We had a great first half and went 0-2 up. Then we held up very well defensively, with our second clean sheet. This has to make us stronger, we’re in the fight,” he said.

The goal that widened the gap was the first that the number '21' scored with the Blue and Whites. “I’m very happy, I really wanted to score a goal with Málaga and experience that feeling. I’m very excited and looking forward to next Monday,” he said.

Finally, he was full of praise for the Malaguista fans: “They are crazy to travel from one end of the country to the other. Thank you to them, they made us feel like we were at La Rosaleda. May they continue to believe in us and support us like this, as on Monday La Rosaleda has to be a pressure cooker and we need their vital support.”
