Youth football in Málaga continues making history

After winning the Copa de Campeones and their recent participation in the UEFA Youth League, two Málaga teams (Málaga CF and CD San Félix) currently co-lead División de Honor Group IV.

Málaga grassroots football in the ‘Juvenil’ category is enjoying a dream season. You just have to look at División de Honor Group IV to see the superb season that both Málaga CF and CD San Félix are having.

Both teams are tied at the top of the table with 48 points, although Málaga CF is in first place on general goal average (+42 against +31 of San Félix).

Málaga CF and CD San Félix lead the standings ahead of important youth teams such as Sevilla FC, Real Betis, Granada CF and other provincial capitals of Andalucía, in one of the most competitive groups in the category.

It’s an historic milestone that two Málaga teams command Juvenil División de Honor Group IV at this point in the season, with just nine games to go until the end of the competition. If both teams manage to maintain their respective positions, they’ll take part in the Copa del Rey at the end of the competition, and the team in first place will win a pass to the Copa de Campeones.

A Copa de Campeones that Málaga CF won two seasons ago, and in which it was a finalist last year. Achievements that join the historic participation last season in the UEFA Youth League, the most prestigious tournament at youth club level across Europe.
