“You leave with a bitter feeling; the point was good”

Fran Villalba had a few words for the Club's media in the mixed zone of Nuevo Los Cármenes. “In these 13 remaining games the team needs me, and I have to do my best,” he said.

“The team competed from the outset. We came to a very difficult ground, nobody has won here. We're disappointed as they scored the winner in the 90th minute, which was partly down to our mistake,” he started out by saying. “The team worked well for the 90 minutes yet you leave with a bitter feeling because earning a point here would be very good,” he continued.

On a personal level, “I intervened less with the ball,” said Villalba in relation to the previous game at home against Zaragoza. “I have to be more of a protagonist and help the team a lot more, as in these 13 remaining games the team needs me and I have to do my best,” he remarked.

Finally, he was clear about the upcoming league game against Racing Santander: “This is a match that can mark everything. If we win, we’ll be there. We are going to win for sure, with our fans. We need them and hope they’ll be there supporting us as they did today.”
