Press conference

Yáñez: “We’ve got time to turn this around”

The Malaguista goalkeeper held a press conference earlier today: “We have time to move the situation forward. I hope to continue giving my all and contributing as much as I can,” he stated.

Rubén started the press conference by talking about his personal situation, saying that “I was looking for the level of continuity that would allow me to show my quality. I’ve found a home in which to grow and am very grateful to be here. I hope to continue giving my all and contributing as much as I can to the team and, together, we can stay in the division,” he commented.

Despite the situation in the standings, the team believes they will remain in the category. As the club has been promoting during the week, ‘believing is achieving’. “The situation is alarming, but we still have time to turn this around. The other day against Las Palmas we stood up to them. We can see that we’re doing a good job, but it’s proving tough for us to get the three points. If we compete like this on Friday, we can get a victory. I’m just focusing on the fact we’re going to win, I don't see it any other way. We have a very positive line of work. We have to make the most of playing at home,” Rubén added.

On Friday La Rosaleda will once again be a key factor for the team. Rubén is aware that “the most important game is the next one, which is a final. I’m only concentrating on the next game, on trying to get the three points. Outside there’s a lot of noise. The only way to move this forward is to focus and follow our line of work. We need the three points no matter what. Once we’ve played Levante, we’ll think about Leganés. This is the path we have to follow. We must focus on ourselves, without thinking about the other teams. We have to stay focused and not think about the standings,” he expressed. “There’s a considerable distance from safety, but it’s possible,” he concluded.
