Worthy performance by Atlético Malagueño in friendly against Dynamo Moscow (0-1)

Atlético Malagueño lost by 0-1 in yesterday’s friendly match against Dynamo Moscow in Marbella, one of the best teams in the Russian League and with a great history in European football.

The Third Division team knew they’d have to be on top of their game in order to defeat the Russian-based side.  Coach Josep Clotet selected the starting 11 with numerous changes compared to Sunday’s match against UD Marbella, with four ‘juvenil’ players included in the line-up.

The ‘Malaguistas’ started off with an immense level of determination and concentration, treating the match as if there were points in play.  Atlético Malagueño showed a great strength on the pitch against Dynamo Moscow in the first half.  Both teams created numerous goal opportunities, although the score was still 0-0 at half-time.  The Russian-based side changed ten members of the team in the second half, whilst Clotet only made three substitutions.  Fatigue was the reason why the Blue and Whites lost some of the intensity shown earlier on in the game, however they still performed well.  The Dynamo goal came from a free kick.

Malagueño are now preparing for Sunday’s Third Division Group IX match against Unión Estepona.
