Málaga CF Femenino defeated Extremadura UD Femenino by 3 goals to 0, in the 11th match of Segunda División Nacional Group IV, to maintain their lead in the rankings with 28 points.
The Malaguistas felt comfortable on the field of play as soon as the match kicked off, and dominated possession. In minute 3, a free kick in Málaga’s favour led to a 1-0 lead, thanks to a precise shot from Adriana to open the scoring.
The match continued with Antonio Contreras’ girls controlling the gameplay, although the scoreboard remained the same. The negative arrived in minute 26 when Extremadura player, Desi collided with Sandra in midfield. The rival was shown the yellow card, but the Blue and Whites’ player went off injured, with María Ruiz taking her place. There was little more action on the pitch and at half time the score remained at 1-0 following Adriana’s goal.
The Malaguistas came out with a more forceful approach. After 10 minutes of dominance in the rival area, Adriana hooked the ball but didn’t manage to find the net, however the fans continued cheering the team on. They had to wait until minute 80 until a Paula left-footer sank the ball into the back of the Extremadura goal. The locals now had a 2-0 advantage.
Contreras made some changes, bringing on Karina, Kerlly and Noelia. Extremadura tried their luck but a superb action from Chelsea impeded them from joining the scoreboard. The referee added five minutes of stoppage time, and in 94’, a pass from Karina to Adriana allowed the number ‘10’ to net another goal and secure a 3-0 win.
