Willy: “It’s good to have these few days to correct and improve"
Málaga Football Club’s Argentinean-born goalkeeper, Willy Caballero, spoke to the media this Wednesday morning in the Ciudad de Málaga stadium press room.
Willy Caballero’s statements
(The Seville match). “The game turned out to be complicated, which took us by surprise in the first few minutes, and then it became more complicated still when they scored. It made us wake up and get into the game, but by then they had a clear advantage on the score board. It’s a tough knock back, but we must move on and keep on thinking about the next match. The rival team had a couple of games under its belt, which was obvious because they were quicker and more agile.”
(State of mind). “I feel good, the only thing that hurts are the defeats. Whether things go in our favour or not, the important thing is for the team to learn each time, but of course, you always feel better when you win or play well. I hope that in the next match, we’ll do both.”
(League stoppage). “We continue working and the good thing is that we’re now already thinking about the Granada match, the first local game. I think we all know now what we did wrong last time and we have to improve on that. I think it’s good for us to have a few days to forget what happened; also the team is a little split with the internationals being away. It’s good to have these few days to correct, improve and grow as a team, and face the next match here at home with the highest of expectations.”
(Next match). “We’re putting the need to win on ourselves. I believe that we have to win especially when we’re at home, but also when we play away too. We mustn’t give Granada any opportunities on the pitch. We have a great team, and we know we have a great fan base, and now we must all push for this together. I don’t think we should make a drama or problem out of it. Everyone hates losing, but the important thing is how we move on and, above all, how we finish.”
