“Whoever wants to take points away from Málaga is going to suffer a lot”

Javi Jiménez appeared before the media following #MálagaAlavés. “The team knew how to stay strong and manage the run of play,” said the Blue and White left-back.

In his initial analysis, he was blunt. “Málaga are not going to get points if we’re not suffering. Whoever wants to take points away from Málaga is going to have to suffer a lot.” Javi considers that, as well as the result, the image of the team is improving.

“I'm inclined to stay in the middle ground. The result can often make you lose objectivity as the team has been playing good games. The team knew how to stay strong and manage the run of play, something that we’d been doing quite well at the back,” continued Javi.

On a collective level, the number '3' is clear: “We weren't so bad before or so good now. The important thing is to keep a cool head, give the victory the importance it deserves and analyse certain things.”

Finally, the Jaen-born defender commented. “I’m handling things quite well, thanks to the dressing room over the last month, everyone has got behind me. I’d like to thank my teammates and everyone at the Club,” he concluded.
