Always at the ‘top’

Since the beginning of the 18/19 season, Málaga CF has remained in the top part of the standings. At the start, the Blue and Whites accumulated five victories out of the first five games of the season, to give them a good cushion at the top. In addition, in the first seven matches held at La Rosaleda, they scored 21 out of a possible 21 points, showing themselves to be insurmountable at home.

The competition advanced and Málaga remained in promotion positions, either direct or play-off. Not even a more irregular run of results midway through prevented the team from being undefeated away from home for four months, accumulating eight matches without defeat between December and March.

After 36 consecutive matches in the top six, it was only at the end of LaLiga 1|2|3 matchday 37 that Málaga CF wasn’t in the Top 6 of the Second Division. The team has shown the required consistency and competitiveness to aspire to the challenge of returning to the top-flight of Spanish football. It will have to be via the play-offs. Vamos Málaga! We’ll be back!
