“It’s a final, all or nothing. And we’re approaching it with that mentality. We need to focus on that victory for hope, to believe in ourselves and boost our self-esteem. The work I see during the week needs to be conveyed in the competition, as for one reason or another, it’s not happened. We need to win and keep on winning, it’s the only way,” he started out by saying.
In regard to Real Zaragoza, the upcoming league rival, Pellicer highlighted that “at a high intensity level they are one of the most powerful in the category. They’re a team with a faithful reflection of the coach, with a 4-4-2, lines together, with Giuliano who threatens the spaces and with people who want to take centre stage. We know their potential, but we have to focus on ourselves to narrow the gap and get into the fight with several other teams.”
The coach insisted that the match against Zaragoza “is a final,” and “the importance of every minute of the game, every action, with and without the ball” is key to “being prepared on an emotional, technical, tactical and physical level. And, of course, concentration, being active and prepared for any adversity because we know that we’re going to suffer”.
“I think positive. The result that matters is ours. There are 15 games remaining, but for me there is only one game left, the one on Monday. We’ll see what we can do. I want to convey that it can be achieved, and we’ll do it with a victory, believing in ourselves, and showing the fans that it can be done,” added Pellicer, who concluded by reinforcing his message: “We must maintain the same intensity and the same level every minute. And do our best to compete. We have to take advantage of every minute as if our lives depended on it.”
