The Blue and Whites came out on top against the African side, with two goals from Sandro, and others from Kuzmanovic and Nesyri. They face the final of the Carranza Cup on Saturday.
Málaga CF won the second semi-final of the Cádiz-based tournament against Nigeria All Stars, in what was a comfortable match. The Martiricos side went all out in the first half, and wasted no time in generating opportunities. Soon after kick off, Keko had the first chance to take the lead, but the African keeper was able to prevent a goal. Sandro was the second to send a warning to the rival with a powerful cross towards the target, that again the goalkeeper rejected. Málaga tightened up and piled the pressure on, leading to Kuzmanovic opening the scoring in minute 22, following a Juanpi Añor corner.
Despite the Malaguista goal chances, the African side managed to equalise thanks to Emmanuel in minute 30 of play. The joy was short-lived for the Nigeria All Stars. Sandro scored the second goal for Málaga CF (minute 37), with a strong left-footed cross into the back of the net. At the half-time whistle, Málaga had a 2-1 lead.
As soon as the second half kicked off, the Malaguista striker scored his second goal of the night, and the third for the Blue and Whites; again following a pass from Juanpi. Málaga coach, Juande Ramos made various changes during the second half of play. Keko, Jony, Pablo, Rosales, Juanpi and Sandrowere substituted by Ontiveros, Chory Castro, Charles, Miguel Torres, Recio and Nesyri. The latter made it 4-1 two minutes before the final whistle, taking Málaga through to the final of the tournament.
Málaga will compete in the final of the Carranza Cup on Saturday at 21:30 against Cádiz, who defeated Atlético de Madrid on penalties following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.
