Victory for CD Tenerife in the final friendly (0-1)

Málaga CF didn’t manage a win in their reunion with the fans, despite playing a great game. Elady’s goal in minute 36 sentenced the match.

La Rosaleda can finally breathe again. Albeit with masks, social distancing and open by sector, but the Malaguismo temple was at last reunited with fans.

On a warm evening, this 7th August, after 17 months, over a thousand Blue and White fans enjoyed watching their team. The first step towards the long-awaited return to normality and a rehearsal for MCF’s upcoming LaLiga SmartBank debut on 16th August.

In terms of gameplay, the Blue and Whites stepped on to the pitch with the firm intention of outwitting the rival defence. The team generated several occasions in the opening stages and later settled in midfield to control the pace of play.

The visitors also showed intensity in the game and took the lead in the 36th minute with a goal from Elady to go 0-1 up.

Following the goal, the locals returned to their principal idea of going all out on the attack, but at half-time the scoreboard still showed a 0-1 lead for the visitors.

The second half got underway with the same script as the first. Fighting for possession in midfield and rapid attacking actions by the Malaguistas to try and surprise the rival defence.

However, MCF’s great effort reaped no reward, despite a string of occasions.

In the final minutes, with tired legs, the locals kept up their attempts to bring joy to the fans.

Yet, despite the push from those in the pitch and the fans in the stands, the final result was a 0-1 win for the visitors.
