An unforgettable Blue and White day

The inauguration of the MCF Foundation’s Ciudad Deportiva took place this morning. Ribbon cutting, round table and a tour of the facilities featured during this historic event for the Malaguista entity.

The 27th November 2023 will go down in history for Málaga CF. The inauguration of the MCF Foundation’s Ciudad Deportiva was an exciting day, representing a turning point for the Malaguista Family and its future.

The event brought together a representation of the main institutions. The City Hall, Diputación de Málaga, Junta de Andalucía, Royal Spanish Football Federation and LaLiga were all present at this momentous occasion for the Club.

José María Muñoz, president of the MCF Foundation; Francisco de la Torre, Mayor of Málaga; Francisco Salado, president of the Diputación; José María Arrabal, general secretary for sport at the Junta de Andalucía; and Marta Alonso, deputy to the general management of LaLiga cut the inaugural ribbon, which kicked off a very special morning.

They then made a brief visit to the pitches before taking a more in-depth tour of the facilities. Those present were able to observe first-hand the two adjacent fields and the one intended for competition. All this took place whilst The Academy was training there for the first time. The male Infantil, Alevín and Infantil Femenino teams represented The Academy; whilst the Genuine, the MCF Foundation; and the Alevín and Infantil femenino teams were there on behalf of the MCF School.

Everyone’s first impressions were the same: satisfaction and happiness. This was expressed by the representatives of the institutions at the roundtable, held in the press room of the MCF Foundation’s Ciudad Deportiva.

José María Muñoz, president of the MCF Foundation; Francisco de la Torre, Mayor of Malaga; Juan Rosas, Sports Deputy; Arturo Bernal, sports adviser at the Junta de Andalucía; José Manuel Molina, vice president of the Royal Andalusian Football Federation; Marta Alonso, deputy to the general management of LaLiga; Salvador Cortés, architect of the sports city; and David Larrubia, Málaga Club de Fútbol player, presented their respective visions of the significance of these facilities in the present and future of Málaga CF and its youth teams, as well as for the city and the province. Through the moderator, they answered the questions of those present at the event.

Immediately afterwards, they visited all the facilities, with their Blue and White finish and Malaguista branding. It was all smiles and excited faces at being able to see up close - and touch - a Sports City that has been long awaited by all Malaguistas.

A new home. An ideal place to take care of the present and future of Málaga CF. With the presence of the past in memory, the club will seek to cultivate a fundamental feeling of belonging to develop the Malaguista players in the best way possible.

Flying the flag for Blue and White Values, the MCF Foundation’s Ciudad Deportiva will promote the personal and football development of the Malaguista youth players. 27th November 2023 will be an important day in the history of Málaga Club de Fútbol. An unforgettable day!
