This month of April is truly special for the members of a supporters’ club that celebrates its 20^th anniversary in 2023.

On the occasion of Málaga CF's participation in the UEFA Cup, in the 02/03 season, a group of Malaguistas residing in Madrid were looking for a nerve centre where they could watch the team’s legendary match against Leeds United at Elland Road (1-2, brace by Dely Valdés). They met in a British pub in December 2002 and went on to form the peña in the Spanish capital.

Malaguistas and Malagueños who are always present at Málaga CF's matches against the different rivals from Madrid whom the team has faced over the 20 years. They also make the most of the Blue and Whites’ visit to Madrid to pay tribute to players, coaches, medics, assistants or institutional representation of the Club. Not to mention the women’s first team, which they honoured in 2019 for their promotion to the elite in the 17/18 season.

Fernando López is the president of a supporters’ club that has maintained a fixed core of loyal members over the years since it was set up, and who form a large Malaguista family in the capital. “We all have plenty of commitment, with those who are lucky enough to live in our beloved country and those from afar; faith is a feeling that can have ups and downs, you have to go to each match as if it were your last. The unity with the fans, their fight and effort is capable of anything; and memory, the players who gave everything for the Club, such as Migueli, Benítez, Arias or Viberti, to name a few who are not with us. Would they have given up? No, absolutely not. Neither they nor all those who defended our colours, nor us, nor anyone. Let's all give a little more and we will achieve our goal. ¡Viva el Málaga!”, he said on behalf of the peña.

In the season of your 20^th anniversary, we look forward to celebrating together and remaining in the silver category. Thank you for your sentiment. Here's to another 20 years, Malaguistas!
