This Thursday 15th February 2018, is a day that will forever be marked in the history of Málaga CF. The reason is that the works on the MCF Academy at Parque de Arraijanal were inaugurated in an act full of hope and excitement. The event, organised by Málaga CF, via its Foundation, was attended by Club Board member, Nayef Al Thani; the CEO of the MCF Academy, Hamyan Al Thani; Club advisers, Abdullah Ben Barek, Antonio Benítez and Francisco Martín Aguilar; sports director, Mario Husillos; MCF Academy director, Antonio Tapia; coaching team and members of the Atlético Malagueño squad, headed up by coach, Dely Valdés, and MCF Foundation representatives.
In addition, the main institutions in the city were also present, represented by Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre; president of the Diputación Provincial, Elias Bendodo; and Junta de Andalucía delegate, José Luis Ruiz Espejo.
Ben Barek opened the ceremony with words that will, without doubt, forever remain in the collective Malaguista memory: “It’s a great day for Málaga, the MCF Foundation and the Club, as today a dream we’ve had for a long time starts to come true”, he said on the lectern, visibly moved. His speech was followed by the Mayor of the city, who explained his satisfaction with the event: “These are foundations that will bear fruit. I hope the works will be a success, go without a hitch and that this land will be full of sporting life to ensure our beloved Club triumphs”.
Works on the construction of the MCF Academy have been inaugurated. Here we go!
