Three crucial points at La Cerámica (1-2)

Victory for Málaga CF away to Villarreal CF ‘B’ in front of around 500 Malaguista fans. Chavarría and Rubén Castro scored the Blue and White goals.

In the second consecutive match away from La Rosaleda, Málaga CF headed to the Estadio de la Cerámica with 500 Blue and White fans. Pellicer introduced some changes compared to the line-up in Andorra, and tonight selected the following 11: Rubén Yáñez; Delmás, Escassi, Burgos, Juande, Cristian; Ramón, Febas, Fran Villalba; Rubén Castro and Chavarría.

From the outset, Málaga CF came out with intensity in the duels, showing clear ideas both in defence and attack. Despite several approaches from the local side, Pellicer's team dominated the first half.

Chavarría opened the scoring in minute 14. The Argentinean striker entered at the near post with conviction after a great assist from Delmás to put the team 0-1 up.

Málaga continued seeking out Iker Álvarez's goal and, once again, managed to generate a great chance. Febas found Rubén Castro inside the area and the number 24 crossed the ball to score his 194th goal in the Second Division, becoming the all-time top scorer in the category along with Nino. All this, on the day he became the player with the most games in LaLiga, accumulating 710 appearances.

At the start of the second half, Pellicer replaced Escassi - who had been shown the yellow card - with Ramalho. Shortly afterwards, Lago Junior came on for Chavarría, but in his first action with the ball he sustained injury.

Whilst the Blue and White attacker was limping, the locals scored. Sergio Carreira reached the goal line and, with a surprising shot, made it 1-2 in minute 63. Immediately afterwards, Álex Calvo came on for injured Lago.

Málaga maintained their lead until the final whistle to seal an important victory. Next Sunday, the team will return to La Rosaleda to face Cartagena on LaLiga SmartBank matchday 36, where a large crowd is expected as the fans will once again be decisive in the search for the second consecutive win.
