Three Alevín Malagueños have been selected to play for Spain in the Danone Nations Cup

Three Malagueño players will be taking part in the Alevín World Cup, organised by Danone Nations Cup, held in Poland at the beginning of September. Málaga CF players Sergio Monteiro and Pablo Pérez, and Sevilla’s Juan Cruz have been chosen.

National coach Vicente del Bosque, and coaching director of the RFEF Foundation school, Eduardo Valcárcel, were in charge of selecting the players:  Goalkeepers Aitor Ruiz (Alavés) and Alberto Pereiro (La Salle); defenders: Sergio Monteiro (Málaga), Aranau Tortosa (Ruiprimer) and Joel Porte (Mollerussa); midfielders Pablo Pérez (Málaga), Iván Montoro (Rayo), Aníbal Padrón (Las Palmas), David González (Las Palmas), Alejandro Rico (Sevilla) and Juan Cruz (Sevilla), and strikers Juan Carlos Arana (Las Palmas) and Juan Manuel Bernal (Sevilla).
 
This tournament is the biggest competition in world football for children under 12.  It started in 2000, with the backing of FIFA, Federations and Ministeries of Education and Sport, as well as the support of Zinedine Zidane as the tournament sponsor.
