The Blue and Whites’ team competes in the only group in the senior Women’s Second Division. With 65 points, they hold second position in the rankings, and could move to the top spot this weekend and be proclaimed champions.
The women’s section of Málaga CF is made up of three squads: First team, reserve team and ‘cadete’. The second team, headed up by Noelia Ruiz and Pedro Martín, plays locally at the ‘José Gallardo’ municipal football ground, and is part of the Women’s Second Division in Málaga.
“The players in my team are ‘cadetes’ and ‘juveniles’ of 15 and 16 years of age, but they don’t mind competing against players of the same age or older. They are used to the age peaks that occur in this league”, says the coach.
With one match remaining until the end of the competition, Málaga CFF ‘B’ has accumulated 65 points, putting them in second place in the table, with a three-point difference behind leaders, CD El Palo.
This Sunday at 20:00, the Blue and Whites’ squad will come up against El Palo at Nuevo San Ignacio, in a match that will decide the league champions.“This match is there to be played, and until the referee blows the whistle, there’s nothing won or lost. We’re facing a tough rival at their ground, but I trust that my players will go out there and give 200% x 200% with great intensity. The excitement is the most important factor, and the players will fight with all their hearts”, comments coach, Noelia Ruiz.
