Like the 3rd Benjamín, this squad is split into two teams, taking part in the 3rd Alevín Málaga category. However, day to day they train as one squad under the instruction of Daniel Pérez, Fernando Priego and Alberto Domínguez. “We work throughout the week as one team, conveying the same concepts and principles as the Academy model. We are just one squad”, comments Daniel Pérez.
The Alevín ‘A’ and ‘B’, how they are known as separate teams, lead their corresponding domestic categories, with 57 and 58 points respectively. Both play locally at ‘Los Prados’ municipal ground.
The Malaguistas are looking forward to two internationally prestigious competitions, that are already showcased in the Blue and Whites’ display cabinet. The Guipavas Tournament in France (29-30 April) and the Azpeitia Cup (10-11 June). In both competitions, they will face world-class teams: “It’s a test for the kids and for us, where we’ll evaluate their progression they’ve had over the season”, explains the coach.
