The MCF Academy side leads 1st Andaluza Group 2 in their category. In the upcoming months, they will be taking part in the prestigious ‘Roquetas de Mar, Tierra de Fútbol’ (Almería) tournament, and the ‘Torneo della Solidarieta’ in Italy.
The second year ‘Infantil’ team within the Malaguista youth ranks competes in group 2 of the 1st División Andaluza. They lead the table with 62 points, accumulating 20 victories, two draws and one defeat. The team plays locally at ‘Virreina’ municipal ground, and trains under the orders of the coaching team headed up by Álex Ortiz and Rafael Morales.
Should they end the season in first or second place in the rankings, Málaga CF will take part in the final stage of the Andalusian Club Championships. In this ‘Final Four’, the first two teams from each group face each other to decide the regional champion. “It’s always a very attractive competition. We are aware of the difficulty and the excitement it generates within the Club. There are still League matches remaining, but we hope to arrive in the best conditions”, affirms Ortiz.
In addition, the Malaguistas have two internationally prestigious commitments coming up.
The ‘III Roquetas de Mar, Tierra de Fútbol’ tournament is taking place in the Almería municipality from 13th to 15th April. In order to win the trophy, Málaga CF will compete against major clubs such as Sevilla FC, Club Atlético de Madrid, Villarreal CF and Athletic Club, amongst others.
The city of Milan will host the 9th‘Torneo della Solidarieta’ from 2nd to 4th June. In this prestigious competition, the Malaguistas will come up against Juventus of Turin, PSV Eindhoven, AC Milan, Inter Milan, SL Benfica and RSC Anderlecht.
Both commitments motivate the MCF Academy side to put on a great performance. “It’s going to be wonderful to compete against such major teams. We’re incredibly excited, and our aim is to continue developing in this ideal, competitive environment”, comments the coach.
