The search is on for the best Blue and White lyricist

Málaga CF, via its Foundation and together with the Fundación del Carnaval de Málaga, launches a competition to find the best Malaguista song.

Malaga is a carnival city. This festival brings so much excitement and life to our city and gets bigger every year. The main streets are adorned with colour and the melodic voices bring lyrics to life, that with such satirical creativity, tell the story of what’s going on in our society. Among the verses we can appreciate the singers’ love for our land, our customs and, of course, our club.

Malaguistas who dedicate authentic verbal works of art to the colours they wear with such pride. We are looking for these geniuses. Covid-19 has taken us all off the streets, but the Carnival remains very much alive. The MCF Foundation and the Fundación del Carnaval are aiming to find the best Blue and White lyricist, and therefore they jointly launch the ‘Pasodoble al Sentimiento Malaguista’ competition.

From today until 25th February, fans can submit their musical pieces featuring Málaga CF as the main theme. For this competition, running parallel with COAC Virtual 2021, anyone can take part, with no age limit. The musical pieces can be sent via email to coplamalaguista@carnavaldemalaga.es, and will be reviewed by the judging panel who will announce the winner during the weekend of 26-27 February.

The file must be sent in video format and have a maximum duration of 4 minutes. The group needs to be made up of a minimum of two members and a maximum of four, in compliance with the capacity regulations as established by the health authorities. The lyrics must be accompanied by music, at least a Spanish guitar, although additional instruments may be used. Of course, the repertoire must include a pasodoble with the theme being centred around MCF highlighting its values, and must be original in terms of lyrics and/or music.

The winning group will be presented with a commemorative shirt featuring its name, a selection of merchandise for each member of the group and the chance to record the piece at La Rosaleda with the Club’s official media (the date will depend on the Covid restrictions).
