“The match was very complete, with great sacrifice”
Juan Ramón López Muñiz is very pleased with the work of his players and highlights the team’s ability to play in a block.
Complete match
“The match was very complete, above all in the first half; we played a lot in the attacking half, there were many occasions, many shots with great finishes. I think we had a very good first half. Logically, Tenerife have their weapons and I think our team played very well. It’s normal that when you’re behind you take more risks and try to make more approaches, but you also leave more space at the back and we had a few opportunities there. On the whole we played a good match, with great sacrifice. We know we need to follow this line and now need to prepare for the next match”.
CD Tenerife
“We had a rival who, when they have space, knows what to do with it. They’re very dangerous behind you, but we were able to counteract it well. In the end, when there are alternatives in a match you need to know how to act in both situations, in defence and attack, and we did it well”.
Team
“This team has connections on all sides. They work as a team and don’t focus on any individuality. They all work together which is great. I’m very happy with that”:
Renato Santos
“He received a blow yesterday, which seemed less than he felt today in the warm-up. When he started with the ball he noticed discomfort. It bothered him, and in a good gesture he stepped aside. However, everyone was ready to play. The team is working very well and it’s a shame you have to leave someone out as they’re all doing well. What a nice problem to have”.
