The grand night of the #SiempreFuerte Awards

The gala evening of the I Edition of the MCF Foundation’s awards ceremony was held on Thursday evening at Museo Picasso Málaga. Málaga-born singer, Diana Navarro delighted the audience with a vibrant performance.

The MCF Foundation’s blue carpet extended to Calle Alcazabilla in memory of Pablo Ráez, for his example of overcoming adversity and life lesson, and to welcome the I Edition of the #SiempreFuerte Awards.

Present at the emotional gala, which took place in the auditorium of Museo Picasso Málaga, and with the collaboration of El Corte Inglés and Fundación El Pimpi, were Málaga CF Club advisers, Antonio Benítez, Abdullah Ben Barek and Francisco Martín Aguilar. Joining them were the representatives from the main Málaga institutions; mayor of the capital, Francisco de la Torre; provincial delegate of the Junta de Andalucía, José Luis Ruiz Espejo; and president of the Diputación de Málaga, Elías Bendodo.

Singer, Diana Navarro put the musical note to the event with two emotional performances, at the beginning and end of the gala, to rapturous applause from the hundred guests in attendance. These included representatives from the associations and social groups in the city. Málaga journalist, Marina Romero, and MCF Foundation representative, Sebastián Fernández Reyes 'Basti' acted as masters of ceremonies.

The event recognised the work and social action of people, and private or public entities in the field of solidarity, co-existence, respect, equality and overcoming adversity. The winners:

Paco Ráez was present at the event, grateful for the impact his son Pablo had in the awards, as a “show of commitment to young people” by the MCF Foundation. A group photo with everyone present was taken at the end of the event, to commemorate the unforgettable first edition of the #SiempreFuerte Awards.

Winners of the II Edition of the #SiempreFuerte awards

Pablo Pineda, the first European with Down's Syndrome to achieve a university degree will receive the #SiempreFuerte award. The Abdallah Ben Barek award is going to Antonio Martín Gaitán, ‘El Niño’, blind indoor football player, whilst the winning Social Entities are Autismo Málaga, Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche and Fundación Andrés Olivares.
