Yesterday, 29th March was an unforgettable evening within the magical atmosphere of Museo Picasso. The fifth edition of the #SiempreFuerte Awards featured moments that brought out all the emotions among those attending the gala.
The event kicked off with an unprecedented moment. The troupes of Er Dito and Alhaurín sang the first notes of their ‘copla’ as they made their way to the stage, where they sang 'Palabra de Pablo Ráez'.
“The Gospel of an immortal warrior, a God of flesh and blood”, “a Malagueño with a big heart”, “he was bigger than his immense heart, his legacy and courage”, “monuments to life, every phrase from his lips”, “a man who never knelt, who painted the sun during the clouds” and “Our Pablo, the immortal child” were some of the lyrics that led to rapturous applause during the fifth edition of the Siempre Fuerte Awards.
The second magical moment of the evening was the performance by La Mari, who hypnotised guests with her song ‘Corazón Valiente’ dedicated to Pablo Ráez, “the magician of live”, “superhero without a cape from calle Lobatas”, “your smile gives life”.
The intensity of the gala was maintained in the subsequent tribute to the legendary Antonio Benítez, player, coach and adviser who left Malaguismo on 23rd January, after being linked to the entity for more than half a century. A very emotional Basti talked about the relationship between Benítez and Málaga CF as “eternal love for the colours.”
The unveiling of the award is always one of the most highly anticipated moments of the gala. This year the painting was created by Malagueña artist Lorena Hermoso. The beautiful work features an image of Pablo Ráez based on his physical and mental strength. Divided into two parts, one in which it shows his lifestyle, in blue, and another in which it sheds light on his energy, in yellow.
The last unforgettable moment of the ceremony was the #SiempreFuerte Applause, which this year was dedicated to a Club employee who has endured a difficult personal situation over the last year, rightly recognised by the entire audience.
Year after year, the #SiempreFuerte Awards just keep getting better.
