The Club reinforces its coaching staff with José Mascarós
The physical trainer joins Málaga Club de Fútbol to work alongside Enrique Ruiz and Julio Rodríguez with the Club’s first team.
Fifty-year old Valencia-born José Vicente Mascarós Balaguer has been working in the world of football since 1999. With a degree in Sports Sciences, Physical Activity and Leisure Time (1993-1998) from Lleida, he is also a national football coach (Level 3) as well as being a physical trainer.
He has enjoyed an extensive career in Spanish football, predominantly in clubs in Valencia such as Levante UD, Villarreal CF, Elche CF and Valencia CF. With the latter two teams he was part of the coaching staff that won the Copa del Rey in 2008 with the Valencianistas, and Elche’s Second Division championship title which saw the team rise to the elite in the 12/13 season.
At academy level, with Valencia CF, he carried the weight of the physical preparation of grassroots football and the players’ school for several seasons. In Spain, Mascarós was also part of Getafe CF and has accumulated experience in foreign teams such as Belgian side, Royal Excelsior Mouscron and Odisha FC in India, the club he came from in the 21/22 season.
In addition, Mascarós has worked as a professor at the National School of Coaches in the Valencian Community (Level I, II and III) between 2005 and 2009. In terms of training, he has participated in numerous conferences as a speaker related to physical preparation and, as an assistant, has attended a multitude of courses and conferences focused on the prevention and recovery of injuries in football.
