The Club congratulates Málaga Genuine champions

Judicial administrator, José María Muñoz congratulated the team on becoming provisional leader of the fair play category, via a video call and a written letter.

This week the MCF Foundation team was provisionally proclaimed LaLiga Genuine Santander champion in the fair play category, as LaLiga announced the definitive suspension of this inclusive competition.

As such, Málaga CF wanted to congratulate the Genuine team through José María Muñoz.

The judicial administrator personally congratulated these champions via a group videocall, with the entire team present, and a letter was read out to them. It was a fun, highly emotional moment. Since everyone has met Muñoz, they chatted with him and thanked him for his congratulatory gesture.

There was certainly a lot of laughter, it’s impossible not to have a good time with our Málaga Genuine players. The videocall ended with the song, converted into a national anthem of sorts during the state of alarm, ‘Resistiré’ by Dúo Dinámico.

Letter from José María Muñoz to Málaga Genuine

Dear Genuine team:

Everyone at Málaga Club de Fútbol is proud of your wonderful representation of our Club in LaLiga Genuine Santander. Following the announcement of the suspension of the competition, we learned Málaga CF Genuine was named provisional leader of the Fair Play category in your “Deportividad” group. Congratulations!

Fair Play means respect for the opponent and the rules of the game, which is fundamental in sport, and, more importantly, as a person. Once again, you’ve shown your human quality and we’ve all witnessed the great effort you’ve made.

I am writing to you as I want to congratulate you for your camaraderie, enthusiasm and commitment shown in every training session and every match. We know from your coach and coaching team that you respect the rules and follow all instructions. You are showing maturity and the good education received at home by your families.

We also want to thank your families. For supporting you in every game and for helping us to fulfil a dream: to create the great team that is Málaga Club de Fútbol Genuine.

To the veterans, thank you for welcoming the new members of the team this year with affection, patience and making them feel at home and part of the team. We’ve gone from 20 players to 62! What a team!

Furthermore, we know how difficult it is right now, not being able to leave home. Thank you for your positive attitude, you are true champions. And remember, don’t stop training!

We look forward to seeing you on the pitch together again soon. Sending you all a big hug,

José María Muñoz.
