The Blue and Whites’ first team was in training today, Saturday between 5 and 6:45 p.m. at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium. After a five-day Christmas break, the team returned to work on this chilly Saturday evening.
The session was divided into two different parts. The first, which lasted for nearly an hour, focused exclusively on physical work, namely continuous running and stretching exercises, under the supervision of fitness trainers, Juan Solla and Enrique Ruiz. In the second part, also lasting for just under an hour, the ball prioritised the session, with various possession exercises in groups and goal-shooting practice.
A total of 21 players completed the session this evening, plus two goalkeepers, Kameni and ‘Juvenil’, Samu Casado, who trained under the instruction of goalkeeping coach, Íñigo Arteaga. Miguel Torres, who abandoned training earlier than his teammates as a precaution, is suffering from muscular problems to his left hamstring, which forced him to retire early from the last League match against Atlético. The Madrid-born defender trained alongside Angeleri in the second half of the session, who continued to exercise at a lesser pace than the others, under the instruction of fitness trainer, Hugo Camarero.
Pablo Fornals and Javi Ontiveros were the reserve team players present in this evening’s session, along with the aforementioned goalkeeper, Samu Casado, who took the place of Guillermo Ochoa, who was absent with the Club’s permission.
Tomorrow, Sunday from 10 a.m., Málaga CF will be back in training at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium.
