Karina arrives at the Blue and Whites as the highest goal-scorer with Puerto Rico’s women’s team, with the desire to “bring what’s needed to achieve our objectives”.

Karina Socarrás Villalonga (28th November 1993, San Juan, Puerto Rico) is Málaga CF Femenino’s latest addition to reinforce upfront. The player from Puerto Rico, who started playing football at eight years of age, debuted with the Blue and Whites in last weekend’s match against Granada CFF.

National team of Puerto Rico

From the age of 13, Karina represented her country. She started playing in the under-17s, and is now the highest goal-scorer in Puerto Rico’s first team, with 11 goals. Her biggest achievement wearing her national jersey was representing her home country in the pre-Olympic CONCACAF 16’, where she scored her 11th goal.

Career in her country

Last season she was part of Bayamón FC, with whom she was the top goal-scorer during two consecutive years in Puerto Rico’s Liga Superior, and last season they were proclaimed league champions. Karina has also taken part in the Liga Universitaria, and was named champion for the Institution of the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico.

Signing to Málaga Femenino

“It’s a dream for me, I’ve always admired European football, particularly in Spain. This is huge, as women’s football in my country is flourishing. Being part of the team gives you hope and opens the door to many young players who want to achieve big things in the sport we’re passionate about. I’ve come to Málaga to give my all for the shield and the colours. I have great enthusiasm and commitment to the team. Growing day by day is my goal, to bring what’s needed to achieve our objectives”.
