Málaga Club de Fútbol now knows the dates for the upcoming 22/23 season in LaLiga SmartBank, the eighth campaign in the silver division under the club’s current name.
On matchday 1 of the competition, MCF will visit El Plantío to face Burgos CF in mid-August. The team’s first match at La Rosaleda will take place the weekend of 20/21 August against UD Las Palmas on matchday 2.
The first midweek league game is scheduled for Wednesday 12th October, and the second on Wednesday 2nd November. The first – and only – break in the competition will be the weekend of 12/13 November between matchdays 15 and 16.
The third midweek fixture (7th December), at La Rosaleda, will be the first of two Andalusian duels, against Granada CF (07/12/22). The last match of 2022, bringing an end to the first round, is also at home against another former First Division side, Deportivo Alavés (matchday 21, 18/12/22).
The first match in the second round, and the first in 2023, will again be held at Martiricos, the Málaga-Tenerife clash (7/8 January). With no further midweek fixtures, the second round of the competition will end in May 2023 (27/28).
The final matchday, number 42, will take place at La Rosaleda Stadium between Málaga CF and UD Ibiza.
