‘Somos Genuines’, the anthem of the Supercapacitad@s
The official song of the Supercapacitad@s Football School, 'Somos Genuines', was presented yesterday at La Rosaleda, within the framework of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities held today, Saturday 3rd December.
The Juan Cortés press room was the ideal place for this presentation that once again showed that our Genuine players are wonderfully different. In the words of Lucas Rodríguez, Málaga CF Foundation coordinator, “it’s not a day for the disabled, it’s a day for the super-abled. Their families, the people who work with them, you are all an example.”
The song stemmed from the inspiration of Santi Fernández, from A La Grupa, as well as Danny García, who penned the lyrics. The eagerness to collaborate with the MCF Foundation lit the fuse and soon ignited the spark with heart and feeling. “It’s been amazing and the easiest thing I've written in my life, as it comes out on its own,” said Danny, who thanked the Club for its support and had a special mention for Javier Tapia, author of 'Soy Malaguista' who provided his studio for the production of the song.
An emotional Santi also praised Tapia, “a phenomenon who looked after us so well in the studio. There were five hours of recording and we put our heart and soul in it for them,” he stressed with pride and recognised “the privilege of working” with Nena Paine, from the Mercedes García Paine association, which has a very close relationship with the MCF Foundation.
As well as the aforementioned author Danny García, the composition includes Francisco Javier Llamas Díaz (pianist), Manuel Ortega Ramírez (guitar), Santiago Fernández Verdejo (percussionist), Marta Fernández Verdejo (lead vocals), Santiago Fernández Carrión (male vocals), Sandra Verdejo Ramírez (chorus) and Sandra Fernández Verdejo (chorus).
The song also integrates sign language and is a source of pride for the Club Foundation and its sponsors, such as Sanamar Alimentación and PROAMB Integrada, present at the event. The emotion of everyone present was palpable during such a beautiful event for families and friends of our Supercapacitad@s. Isa, mother of the charismatic Oskita, said that belonging to Málaga Genuine “is the best thing that has happened in her life.”
“We continue on, we walk forward. All together. Many days of enjoyment will come, and this song will help us to become stronger,” Lucas stated.
