Solid win for Málaga in Antequera (0-3)

Muñiz’s men secured an authoritative win in the Trofeo ‘Ciudad del Torcal’ held this Saturday evening at ‘El Maulí’. Ontiveros and Héctor Hernández - with two goals during his debut - were tonight’s scorers.

The Blue and Whites faced Antequera CF in the 47th Trofeo ‘Ciudad del Torcal’ held at ‘El Maulí’ stadium. Muñiz’s team arrived at the Costa del Sol municipality as a guest in this historic summer tournament.

Málaga CF stepped on to the pitch with the clear intention of taking an early lead, and they did just that after 12 minutes. Héctor Hernández scored the opening goal on the night of his debut with the Blue and Whites, making the most of a rebound in the heart of the area (0-1). With no time for the rival to react, a minute later the newest signing tried to score a brace with an acrobatic display following a superb cross from the right. The rival keeper managed to deflect the attempt.

The Blue and Whites continued besieging the rival goal and, in minute 17, Javi Ontiveros surprised the rival defence with a tight shot the goalkeeper was unable to save (0-2). The Malaguista attack didn’t stop in an effort to increase their lead and, in minute 27, Héctor Hernández netted another goal, from the edge of the area, with a millimetre shot that slipped past the base of the post (0-3). The result remained the same at half-time.

Both sides attempted to calm the rhythm of play in the second half, in which Málaga CF tried to dominate possession and manage the pace of the game. In minute 65 the Blue and Whites’ coach introduced nine changes to have the maximum number of players available.

One of the incorporations, Mula, tried his luck with a toxic shot from a set piece that narrowly missed the target, with the local keeper making a difficult save (80’). In the final minutes of play, Cifu missed out on a goal after overcoming the rival defence. At the final whistle the result was a 0-3 victory for the Blue and Whites.

Malaguista coach Juan Ramón López Muñiz selected the following players: Andrés Prieto; Rosales (Cifu, 65’), Luis Hernández (Chica, 65’), Diego Glez (Iván R. 45’), Ricca (Ian Soler, 65’); Boulahroud (Adrián, 65’), Iturra (D. Ramos, 65’), Ontiveros (Mula, 65’), Juan Cruz (Hicham, 65’); Renato Santos (Juanpi, 65’) and Héctor Hernández (Mike, 65’).
