Second training session of the week at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium

Málaga CF players were back to work this Tuesday morning at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium. Argentinean-born striker, Javier Saviola, held a pre-training press conference.

Today’s session consisted of continuous running, stretching, rounds, ball possession work and a practice mini-match.  Reserve players, Pol, Toni, Jurado, Sielva and young player, Cristian were in training today.  Baptista exercised in the gym, and Toulalan is continuing with his recovery treatment.

The team returns to training tomorrow morning at 11 at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium.

“It’s going to be a special match for me, as I have some great memories from Sevilla.  I got the chance to meet some fantastic people, who I’m still in touch with today, and I had a very positive experience at the Club.  I’m really looking forward to Saturday night and seeing the fans at the Sánchez Pizjuán that really respected me as a player.”

“We know how important winning this away match is, and we’re completely focused now on securing a series of consecutive wins to ensure we stay within the top four in the League.  It’ll be a very intense match I think, against a Sevilla side who will also be intent on victory to gain some much-needed points.  We can’t really speculate, but we’ll go out there to win on Saturday.”

“Matches like this are always special, but we’re just concentrating on bringing three points home.  A win on Saturday will be a real achievement at such a tough ground, against a team who won’t make it easy for us.  We need another victory this weekend to maintain our fourth position, as it’s so tight up there in the top half of the table, with three or four direct rivals only just below us.  There really is no margin for error, so we’ll be giving it our all to win.”
