Sandro, MVP of #MálagaSevillaFC

The Malaguista striker was named man of the match at La Rosaleda for the fourth consecutive time. “The fans are amazing, I surrender to them. They always give their all in every game”.

Derby

“For us, it was an important match. It was more than a game because of the rival, it was a derby. We were aware of the importance of this clash, and had in mind what happened in the first round, but we let it go over our heads. The team looked different, the players had a sensational attitude. We played a superb game. We’re all delighted with the three points and the encouragement we received from the fans”.

Crazy match

“It was a crazy match, you couldn’t tell who had control or dominance of play. We went out with all guns blazing and made the most of our options to take the lead. They equalised and then Diego headed the ball into the net. I took a penalty that unfortunately the keeper saved, but then my teammate netted the goal. The important thing is we achieved a big, well-deserved 4-2 win”.

Change

“It was a fantastic match by the whole team, which doesn’t surprise me at all as I see my teammates in training every day and we’re improving so much in all aspects. As I’ve said on previous occasions, a good atmosphere within the dressing room and the group is essential. Since Míchel arrived, the team has changed dramatically, both in tactical aspects and mentality. We were in a very negative dynamic before, and since the coach arrived, everything has changed so much. We want to continue like this and reach as high up the table as we can”.

13 goals

“I’m very happy. This is my first year in the First Division. Last year I didn’t have the opportunities I think I deserved. I came to a team where I could fight for a position, and I’m so pleased to have the chance to play and delighted to have scored 13 goals. I thank my teammates who are always supporting me. I’m happy to continue scoring and increasing my streak, which is very important to me”.

Ambition

“I’m a very ambitious person, and know that things happen for a reason. I suffered an injury in an area that affected me as I tend to use deep passes a lot. I was in my best moment before the injury, but I overcame it thanks to help from my teammates. I’m pleased with my fitness level, and above all, the team’s attitude and personality we show whilst playing”.

Proud of the fans

“The fans are amazing, I surrender to them. I really have no words. They always give their all in every game. They are sensational. For us, the supporters are the number ‘12’ on our team. I’m so grateful to them, because without their support, we wouldn’t have secured many of the victories we’ve achieved this season”.
