Malaguista forward Salomón Rondón played with the Venezuela squad in the early hours of the morning in the 2011 Copa America that is taking place this July in Argentina. Rondón, who returned to being first choice in the third game in Group B of the competition after being on the bench in the second encounter, scored a great long range goal that gave the Venezuelan squad the lead against Paraguay (1-0, 5’), but which ended 3-3. The blue and white player in César Farás squad was on the field for the entire ninety minutes. The ‘vinotinto’ ended the first phase unbeaten in second place in its group, after Brazil, with 5 points (1 victory and 2 draws) and will face Chile in the quarterfinals on Monday 18th July in San Juan.
