Rescaldani to reinforce the Málaga squad for the remainder of the season
Striker, Ezequiel Rescaldani (11/06/92 – Tucumán, Argentina) is the latest player to join Málaga Club de Fútbol until the end of 2013/14, following an agreement reached with Club Atlético Vélez Sarsfield.
At the end of the season, the Martiricos Club has got an option to buy the Argentinian-born player. Rescaldani is a young, tall (1.92), powerful striker, who has played primarily with Vélez Sarsfield, the team with which he made his debut in Argentina’s First Division at just 18 years old, winning the 2011 ‘Clausura’ and 2012 ‘Apertura’ tournaments. He played a total of 58 official games, and six ‘Copa Libertadores’ matches. Rescaldani will wear the number ‘16’ shirt and will be presented as a new ‘Malaguista’ on Friday 31st January at 11 a.m. at La Rosaleda’s press room.
Career
Ezequiel Rescaldani began his footballing career in the lower ranks of Vélez Sarsfield. He progressed more and more every year, making his debut in Argentina’s First Division in 2010/11 at just 18 years of age. Rescaldani kicked off 2011/12 with ‘El Fortín’, as Vélez is commonly known, scoring his first goal in the First Division this year. He took part in eight ‘Apertura’ tournament games, with the team proclaimed champions. Rescaldani was later loaned out to Quilmes Atlético Club, with the team promoted to the First Division. In the ‘Copa Sudamericana’, he played three matches with Vélez Sarsfield.
In 2012/13, Rescaldani played eight ‘Apertura’ tournament games, contributing to the title win, and another 15 matches in the ‘Clausura’ tournament, scoring seven goals. He also participated in six ‘Copa Libertadores’ matches, scoring one goal.
So far this season, the Argentine striker has been in the starting-11 three times in the ‘Apertura’ tournament, scoring one goal, and six times joining the match from the bench. He has played four ‘Copa Sudamericana’ games, scoring one goal.
