Comeback of courage and commitment to reach the quarter finals (3-2)

The Juvenil DH triumphed over RCD Mallorca at the CD Fundación MCF in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey Juvenil. Goals from Marcos Rosa and Sarria turned around those scored by the visitors, Iker and Nico.

The Juvenil División de Honor hosted RCD Mallorca Juvenil on Wednesday at 19:00 at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación MCF in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey Juvenil.

Coach Alejandro Casanova fielded the following starting line-up: Lucas, Andy, Seidu, Salva, Alfonso, Cristóbal, Houssam, Marcos López, Sarria, Marcos Rosa, and Aponte.

The match began with a dominant performance from the Malaguistas, who tried to impose their style of play from the very first minute. However, it was Mallorca who took the lead. In the 18th minute, Torres capitalised on a loose ball after a set-piece and scored with his left foot to beat Iker (0-1). Just two minutes later, Nico doubled the visitors' advantage after a mistake by the home side (0-2).

Despite the unfavourable score, the Blue and Whites didn’t give up and were rewarded before half-time. In the 45th minute, Marcos Rosa made the most of Rares’ mistake to pull one back (1-2).

The second half started with the Blue and Whites pushing forward. Just four minutes after the restart, Marcos Rosa was once again in the spotlight, scoring with a header into the top corner to level the match (2-2). With the equaliser, both teams fought for the goal that would secure their place in the next round.

The Juvenil DH team was reduced to 10 players in the 81st minute after Andy was sent off, and just when it seemed the match was heading to extra time, Sarria appeared to score the comeback goal in the 85th minute (3-2).

With this hard-fought comeback, the Juvenil DH advances to the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey Juvenil, where they will face Real Zaragoza in their quest to continue dreaming of the title.
