Professional and non-professional competitions suspended

LaLiga and the RFEF have announced the indefinite suspension of the First and Second Division competitions. In addition, the Federation has also suspended the non-professional football competitions.

Today, Monday 23rd March, it was officially agreed to suspend the two professional competitions in Spanish football. That is LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank, the latter in which Málaga CF has competed since the 18/19 season. The Monitoring Commission established by the current RFEF-LaLiga Coordination Agreement agrees the suspension of professional football competitions until the authorities of the Government of Spain and the General Administration of the State consider that they can be resumed without creating any health risk for players, coaches, employees and the public.

In addition, for the same reason, the Delegated Commission of the RFEF Assembly has approved the suspension of all non-professional and state level football competitions, including the existing categories from Segunda División B. Territorial Federations have also been urged to adopt the same measures at regional level.

As an entity, Málaga Club de Fútbol joins both bodies in expressing the greatest public gratitude to everyone who is dedicating their best efforts to providing essential services to the Spanish people affected by COVID-19, and shares deepest condolences for all those who have passed away, and their families and friends.
