Pepe Mel: “We want to pass the test with flying colours”
The Malaguista coach held a press conference ahead of #MálagaAndorra. “We have to win the three points, the fans deserve to see their team win at La Rosaleda,” he said.
Málaga CF coach, Pepe Mel held a press conference this Friday at the ‘Juan Cortés’ press room, before Sunday’s clash with FC Andorra.
Luis Muñoz will return to the squad list for this game, “unless something extraordinary happens tomorrow.” The Blue and White coach said he’s “training well, he’s a different player than what we have, and the confidence he has shown in recent days in training makes us optimistic.”
The team has many casualties in this stretch of the season. “Haitam and Dani Lorenzo won’t be there,” he said. “It's an X File, it’s never happened to me before,” he added, while making it clear that “the demanding routine in training is what I want from every player, I'm not going to lower the intensity. Until they adapt to competitiveness, we’ll have to pay the price. The team is in the drop zone and that’s the responsibility of all of us,” he continued.
“It's about getting results and getting the fans excited, and there's only one way: to win and get the three points,” he said. “We’re playing at home, with our Malaguista family, and we want to pass the test with flying colours. The fans deserve to see their team win at La Rosaleda,” he stated.
Lastly, he analyses the upcoming rival, FC Andorra: “We’re playing against a team that has a defined roadmap and is recognisable. They’re doing well and won’t make it easy for us. At this point it doesn’t matter who we compete against. The result has to be the same, we need the three points.”
