Pellicer: “We have to continue showing signs of life”

The Blue and White coach spoke to the media after this Saturday morning’s training session: “The rival is tough, but in this category you must always compete.”

Sergio Pellicer held a press conference ahead of Granada - Málaga. The coach started out by analysing the Granada outfit: “The rival is tough. In this category you must always compete. Regardless of the rival, you have to compete. They have a very important talent on the attack. They focus on maintaining a very high pace during play, constantly trying to threaten you. We have to know how to manage the rhythm of play,” he commented.

“It’s a derby of two sets of fans, each suffering in their own way. Hopefully there’ll be a good atmosphere in the stands, and on the pitch we’ll see an open battle. At the end of the season we hope we each achieve our goals; theirs of promotion and ours of remaining in the division,” he stated ahead of the atmosphere that will likely be experienced at Los Cármenes.

Lastly, he wanted to mention Malaguismo and the fans’ influence on the last result (3-0 against Real Zaragoza): “The fans are there. We have to show signs of life. The other day we were in a situation close to going 0-1 down at the end of the first half. We came out raring to go in the second half and we have to keep insisting, keep encouraging. We must continue conveying this to the fans. The other day the fans won the game,” he concluded.
