Match preview: #GranadaMálaga

Málaga CF will be at the Nuevo Los Cármenes to face Granada CF on matchday 29 of LaLiga SmartBank. A duel of Andalusian rivalry kicking off on Monday at 21:00.

This match, marking the start of the final third of the competition, pits the Malaguistas – in 20th place in the standings with 25 points – against the Red and Whites in 5th place with 48 points.

Officiating on Monday is Francisco Hernández Maeso. Born in Brussels (Belgium), the 34-year-old is currently in his third season in the Second Division. To date he has refereed 55 matches, ending in 22 local wins, 18 draws and 15 visitor victories. This season he has officiated MCF on one occasion (0-4 defeat against UD Las Palmas).   • Ben Barek the Legend. The Moroccan played for Granada CF (1956-58), achieving First Division promotion in 1957. In 1958 he signed to CD Málaga where he remained until 1968, achieving three promotions to the First Division and one to the Second. Between 1978 and 1980 he coached Granada CF, in the Second Division. The following year he moved to the CD Málaga dugout, and also later coached this now extinct team in its final stages (1990-92).
