Press conference
Pellicer: “Our future is in 90 minutes”

The Blue and White coach held a press conference at La Rosaleda the day before #AlavésMálaga. “As long as there’s a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, I'm not going to give up,” he stated.

“I’m still in the bubble. These are tough weeks, yet again they’ve all been tough. We’re solely focused on the game, it’s all or nothing. Call me naive, but as long as there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, I'm not going to give up. We’re going to fight for victory, and in regard to everything else, I remain on the sidelines,” Pellicer said.

Regarding Alavés, the coach from Nules considers they are “a team that’s very clear about what they’re doing, with the coach's DNA. They dominate set pieces, compete, and have lost only one game at home which shows their strength,” he commented. Regarding his team, “we are competing. Now we cannot give up. We’re prepared in terms of mental strength and with that heart of fire,” he continued.

The Malaguista coach is clear: “Our future is in 90 minutes. We have to face it that way, on alert. We must compete and try to get three points, then wait to have that little thread of hope next week.”

Regarding Sporting's game in Eibar, “we have to focus on ourselves and play our game. Until the last minute, only a win will do. Whatever happens, we need to keep competing. Never give up and defy fate,” he added.

Regarding the future sports director of the Club, “whoever comes here, I ask you to give them every help and let them work, it's time for unity. Don't judge them as you are the link between us and the fans.” Immediately afterwards, he stressed that “I have the strength to convey to my players that we can win in Vitoria. I feel very responsible, for the people of the club, for the fans, to try to win and see what happens.”

Finally, Pellicer sees it is key to “know how to adjust” the pressure and “mental strength” to get the three points tomorrow in Vitoria, “which is very difficult,” he concluded.
