Pellicer: “It’s not about sensations, we just need to win”

The Malaguista coach held a press conference at the Federación Malagueña de Fútbol ground: “This is the final stretch, to continue suffering we need to continue competing,” he said.

Málaga CF will host CD Leganés on Monday at La Rosaleda. The Blue and White coach held a press conference this afternoon after the team's training session. The rival arrives with doubts following their latest results. The coach commented: “They’ve come from a run of losses in recent games. We’re going to come up against an injured team, which hasn’t achieved the expected results. They have a great squad. The focus is on them, seeking the sensations of the last two matches. We need the result to be favourable, despite the uncontrollable aspects.”

The MCF sensations have improved considerably in recent matches, but this isn’t translating into results at the moment: “It’s not about sensations. The concern is the result, and we can’t control that. Yes, we can control the area of influence of work and commitment. The better we do things, the closer we’ll get to the result. We just need to win. I would like to have had other sensations along with results. We must have the mental capacity to achieve victory at the last minute. That will give us a double boost and motivate us. This is the final stretch, to continue suffering we need to continue competing. And continue along the same line of the last two matches to get a result,” he stated.

Lastly, he responded to refereeing decisions that have sparked controversy recently: “We've played four games with a man down since I've been here. We work on all aspects. What we have to do is help each other. We don't have to look for any excuse, but we must focus on working hard and making it easier for the referee. We have to work on our emotional control to help everyone. We don’t want the issue of the arbitration body to be magnified,” he concluded.
