Pellicer: “It’ll be a great game; we’re raring to go”
The Juvenil UYL coach in MCF’s Academy, in the lead-up to Wednesday’s match against FC Midtyjlland: “They are a rival with great potential and who work well with the ball”.
Match against FC Midtyjlland: “They are a completely different rival to FC Nitra. They have experience in this competition, last year they reached the Round of 16, defeating Atlético de Madrid, and losing out to FC Barcelona. An opponent who in the first knockout tie were superior overRSC Anderlecht, by showing their potential. They are a different team to FC Nitra, from the Danish school of football, with very pacey players upfront, who work well with the ball, and who have improved a great deal in defence. It’ll be a great game, we’re very excited and raring to go”.
Ciudad de Málaga stadium:“The main prize was playing at La Rosaleda. It’s a unique experience for the boys, and now we’ll be competing at another iconic ground, the Ciudad de Málaga. Although it doesn’t matter, the competition speaks for itself. We want to convey humility, hard work and enjoy every game. The boys must continue moving forward, and this type of match is great to help everyone improve”.
Working day to day:“What we must focus on is what is yet to come, not what may be about to end. That’s our main thought process. It’s going to be extremely tough, also for the rival. There’s no better reward than getting so close to being in the top 16 youth teams on the continent. We need to analyse our day to day training, and above all, Wednesday’s match. We’ll have to work very hard and keep in mind that there are two legs to this tie”.
Álex Sánchez
Winning at home:“The team is really excited and can’t wait for this match. It’s a very important game for us, and we’re all looking forward to it. We’ll try our best to claim a good result in the first leg, to enable us to go to their stadium with the upper hand. The most important thing is not to concede goals at our ground, so it’ll be more straightforward in the return leg with a clean sheet”.
Excitement:“We’re incredibly excited, and hope to win this tie and continue on in the competition. The group is united and we’re approaching this match with great eagerness and enthusiasm”.
