Goals and great football to qualify to the next round (5-0)

Málaga CF defeated FC Nitra at La Rosaleda in the return leg of the first UEFA Youth League tie. Ontiveros, Kuki, Joel (2) and Jony scored the goals to secure a superb win to continue in the best juvenil competition in Europe.

The start of play had a clear Blue and Whites’ dominance.  Ontiveros sent out a warning signal of his intentions in minute 10, with a good individual display.  Nitra could have taken the lead in minute 18 when Andrej Fabry missed out on a goal, in a one on one with Kellyan.  Kuki appeared with a promising header after 21 minutes, but it would be the effervescent Ontiveros who would put Málaga in front.  A great action on the left wing led to the Marbella-born player scoring with a powerful cross shot (1-0, 26’).

The goal opportunities kept on coming for Pellicer’s team.  Joel, Kuki and Hicham had magnificent chances between minutes 35 and 39.  However it was Kuki Zalazar, who with a fantastic combination with Ontiveros, scored for the Juvenil ‘A’ team before half-time (2-0, 44’).

In the second half, Hicham showed his quality on the right wing, but the role of striker would go to Joel.  A second assistance from Ontiveros set up a fantastic ball for Joel, who defined perfection (3-0, 57’).  Nitra could have got on the scoreboard in minute 60, but Balaj launched the ball to the post.  Straight after, Álex Robles assisted from the right wing for Joel to score his second goal (4-0, 61’).

In the final half hour, Nitra sought the ‘goal of honour’, but couldn’t overcome the mighty Kellyan.  Málaga accumulated opportunities to increase their lead, with a great shot by Ontiveros in minute 89 that hit the crossbar, and went on to complete his hat trick of assists, allowing Joel to score the fifth goal of the game (5-0, 90’).

A great victory for MCF’s Juvenil ‘A’, to qualify to the next round of the UEFA Youth League, in which the boys will face the winner of the Midtjylland-Anderlecht clash.
