Pellegrini: “The recent results don’t reflect our level of play”

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s manager, Manuel Pellegrini, spoke to the media in the Mestalla Stadium press room after the match between Valencia and Málaga (2-0).

Pellegrini’s statements:

“We had more approaches in the first half than Valencia but, unfortunately, we left with the disadvantage.  In the second half, we had control of the match up until the second goal which almost liquidated the game.”

“The difference was in the effeciency in getting a goal. We created many chances but we’re in a period of getting few goals and we’re looking to improve that.”

“I would have liked to finish the year higher up and, having got one point out of the last nine, doesn’t reflect our level of play and with that I’m satisfied.  The table is very tight and we must continue working.”

“Now we’re looking to go as far as possible in the Copa, once again beating Getafe.”
