Pedro Morales: “We’re determined to achieve great things”

Málaga CF’s Chilean-born midfielder held a press conference this morning at the Ciudad de Málaga Stadium following training. Morales states: “The team is full of excitement, focused on implementing the coach’s system and having a great season.”

Pedro Morales believes this could be his season: “It was difficult getting the chance to play many minutes on the pitch last year, but we’re all working towards earning our place on the team and I’m doing as much as I can.”  The Chilean player refers to his injuries last season: “Last season was positive from a sporting point of view, but physically I wasn’t fit.  I haven’t had any problems so far during pre-season training, so I’m confident and looking forward to the start of the League competition.”

Pedro continues: “Adapting to Schuster’s style of play during training sessions has been quite quick.  There are a group of young players who are determined to achieve great things.”  With regards to the coach, Morales adds: “Schuster is calm, very supportive of the players, has a lot of faith in us and allows us a certain degree of freedom on the pitch.  His style is fairly similar to what we were working on last year; focusing on ball possession, and we’ve improving every day.”

Málaga CF has an open training session for fans this evening from 7 at La Rosaleda: “The last time we had an open session, I couldn’t believe the amount of people that came to see us.  We’re used to people watching our training sessions in Chile, it gives us a real boost.  It’s great for us and the fans.”
